- A vault interface for secret labels, folders and search.
- Reveal and copy after macOS authentication and an explicit Show value or Copy value action.
- Projects with Development, Staging and Production environments, linked to local secrets.
- Explicit plaintext export to a new environment file, with a documented supported format.
Credential values use the V2 open core’s Keychain implementation. Local metadata holds labels and references rather than credential values. Reveal and copy keep the value hidden during authentication, then ask for a second click in the active window. Approval expires after 20 seconds. Copy clears after 30 seconds if the clipboard is unchanged; clipboard history apps may keep their own copies.
Free forever, with a clear scope
Community’s local vault and projects have no paid usage quotas. The application source is Apache-2.0, with its dependencies and notices documented in the repository. Community has no hosted account, billing, maintained provider catalog, cloud sync or AI agent integration.
The Vaultage open beta is a separate product download with an account requirement, provider connections and credential broker workflows. That installer does not install this accountless Community app.
Two Community generations
The older Electron Community repository already contains a local vault and projects. This new native app is built from V2’s licensed open core. Automatic migration from the older edition is not included. The native download is an open beta; clean-machine installation and broader assistive-technology testing remain unverified. This release is for Apple silicon Macs.
